I, Earth

in poetry •  7 years ago  (edited)

I created this poem last month. Inspired of the poem titled "I, Higaonon" the said poem talks about oppression to Lumads in Mindanao. It came to my mind what if Earth is in dilemma like the Lumads, that's why I created this poem!

It happened I passed by to @jacobtothe 's Story Cubes Contest so here's my entry bro!!

Hear Earth with this poem mate!

I, Earth
Mother of the land, air and water
You men! My Grandchildren,

I, Earth
Men say I came
From the Sun, Moon, Stars even Universe
Itself,
But you still don't know
who I am,

You men,
I'm there, every time,
Up until you grow
I am there,
From the time you
Hunt in my jungles,
Up to the point
You use that Iphone,
I am there,

I, Earth Exploit me as your grandma

I give you what you want,
Until my tears turns to acid ,
My blue oceans gets black

I, Earth
I, Give you what you want,
Diamond and gold?
All of it, I, give it!
My body erode

I, Earth
I, Give you what you want,
Give you my trees,
You make it paper
Your read and read
Still you don't know
Who I am,

I, Earth
Give you my sorrows
Floods, Tsunamis, Quakes,
Eve plague,
But still, you can't hear
your grandma,

Some of you beg; most of you
throw dinamite in the sea

You my grandchildren,
I can live without you!
But
I, Earth
Sad when you
not around,
