Over the past few days my eldest two kids and I have waited with patient ears for my youngest son's last line of a Haiku he doesn't know he is crafting. It all started when we were at the beach and his beautiful line of THE WATER IS WHISPERING struck me greatly with its depth and simplicity, not to mention 7 syllables (which I instinctively/obsessively listen for when people, especially my kids, talk) At any rate, the following is a Haiku that was manifested by my 3 year old son:
The water is whispering
I'll bite your feelings
I will eat your beefy hand
I really liked each line for its sound and idea. The haiku takes me through a gentle to, then, a ridiculous journey of images and feelings. I wish I could come up with lines like these! LOL
