drifting through space
transcending all barriers
of this misguided place
expanding hungry minds
embracing all the beauty
that we've all left behind
that take refuge deep inside
slaying all those dragons
with such courage and pride
and whisks us through time
befriending the past --
the hurdles that we climb
where true light is born
our spirit takes flight
with all the grace it adorns
before we can rise
falling from great heights
while escaping our demise
that are meant to confine
releasing pent up tensions
searching for a sign
the remains of the day
unleashing the desires
we're taught to push away
what we run from each day
triumphant in victories
when we normally shy away
confronting the unknown
storming the castle
defending your throne
can be hard to withstand
so we lay down each night
…and visit dreamland.
