LADY BY THE SEA…

Lady By The Sea

She sat by the sea
and smiled at the sun,
walked in the sand --
remembering the fun.

Born in it's shadow
reared by it's side,
majesty and brilliance
it would always imbibe.

Awed and inspired
she greeted each day,
impatience she felt
every time she was away.

The peace it provided
languished in the air,
humbling the seashells
nestled in it's care.

Alone but not lonely
memories at play,
free from the past
quietly she would lay.

No fear of it's depth
she listened to it's cries,
danced with it's spirit
caressed by it's tide.

Noble it's character
sinister it could be --
comforting lost souls
anchored to thee.

Luscious and alluring
deceiving the mind.
Sexy and sultry --
flirting all the time.

Drifting in it's strength
bound to it's soul,
embracing the silence
while hearing it call.

Powerful and merciless
it's beauty undefined,
rejoicing in it's fury
trapped within her mind.

It's poetry in motion
effortless and sublime,
relentlessly loving --
pleasing and kind.

Never fearing the day
no-one could foresee,
she finally was home
...that lady by the sea.

Thanks it just made my day

Anytime... :))

Why are we all drawn to the sea? Is it because we are born in water? Or is it because it is endless?

It's a mystery, for sure...

I'm a lady who lives by the sea. The sea always draws you back. I couldn't live in a city now. Excellent poem, full of emotion and the ocean!

Thanks @hopehuggs -- It definitely has that pull...

Oh yeah, nowhere else but by the Sea. Beautiful one!

Gotta love the sea... Thanks @surfermarly :))
