I am indebted to you, you who taught me love,
Of red roses so sweet and of grace like a dove.
A love so passionate the two of us shared,
To separate such a love, no one dared.
Walking together hand in hand.
You were a prince and I the princess of this land.

However, we were taught; some things aren’t meant to last.
As I saw you with that woman, my face fell aghast.
Where were the promises you said you’d keep?
The promises of a love so deep?

As innocence is dyed with rage,
I locked you up inside a cage.
Rage that slowly turned to insanity,
I continued this act of inhumanity.

If only you loved no one else but me
I’m only doing this for the both of us, you see.
If only you stopped being so selfish
Those actions alone were your death wish.

So hush now darling, this won’t hurt
Just think of it as new birth.
As the cold blade of this knife pierces your heart,
We’ve gained a new start.

I’m only doing this for love.

I made this poem for a spoken poetry performance in school and actually got a pretty high score for it so I decided to share it here on SteemIt. I hope you enjoyed reading it! °˖✧◝(⁰▿⁰)◜✧˖°
I got the photo from google.
