So often we forget that our idols are human too, and that no amount of fame and fortune can fill voids that exist outside of the material. It's in human nature to constantly strive for more, and when you reach the top and realize that it's no more fulfilling than simply having what you need to survive, that can be profoundly lonely. My heart hurts for the people who are left behind, who must feel on some level that they were not enough, even when nobody could have been.
