POEM-Traffic lights

Oh! beautiful traffic lights,
green today and red tomorrow,
never staying yellow for long.
Building unseen walls of unimaginable heights,
aboard a boat that feigns to row.

To a destination so long unknown,
the rigors of the sea hardly considered.
Not a thought of how hard the storms have blown;
for harsher storms this ship has weathered.

Seconds tick away, the journey paused.
The green lights start fading, red imminent.
Is this just another bump on the road?
or was I wrong to think your green would be permanent?

Oh! gorgeous traffic lights,
I can't afford another red.
Show forth your beauty once more,
please glow green forever.
