ON MY DARLING'S CHEEKBONES (An Original Poetry)
I
I see on her cream, fleshy cheekbones
a pellucid colour glimmers
like of a pink rose
that harmonize with her lips.
I see in her a full moon love
which pops up in the welkin.
Her love flicking in the gyring time
Her love beyond the heftiness
of her husky thigh:
it never fade under the full-fledged sun.
II
I feel too,
a full touch of her love
like a gourd fully drunk with PALM-WINE.
Note:
In a nutshell, this is a love poem that I wrote for my old friend after we took pictures, and spent quality time together before she left my place to her parent's home
Language as a Prime Tool of Literature.
Language is a primary mode of communication, and it is made up of body of words. Language as a communicating tool is interwoven with cultures, norms, values and ethics of its users. It is also regarded as a tool for exploring personal feelings, ideals, or thoughts through a system of arbitrary signals such as written symbols, voice sound or gesture.
According to Quirk (1962), “language is a peculiar human facility for communication”. This suggests that language is seen as an instrumentality that aids communication. Language captures or reflects human attributes – it is reflection of human activities. Broadly speaking, language is a means of communication.
For Akmajain, et al (1995), “language is a mirror of the mind in a deep and significant sense”. That is language helps to communication ones thoughts. Language is usually used creatively by users of language. Sometimes, writers deliberately deviate in their use of language in order to suit their taste. And sometimes, they deliberately deviate from the norms in their use of language to create certain effects.
