I HOPE

Hello fellow steemians!!
It has been a while since i published a poem.
I guess it's cause i got lost in crypto and upcoming blockchain projects.
So I sat down today and thought i should write a poem and publish it hear.
I am used to writing sad poems because that's i closely relate to. I had a serious heartbreak 5 months ago that has been so difficult to get over.
I wouldn't understand why i can't get over her but maybe it's just because i loved her genuinely.

I HOPE

It's a brand new day
I have something to say
The sun has risen
The skies are blue
Glowing butterflies
On blooming flowers
The wind whistles
As the birds sing
Side to side
The trees are dancing

From a distance
The sound of a flowing river
Mother nature is happy
And so she smiles
Should i smile back?
Or hold back my smile?
How will i smile
With a wound inside?
Can recall the times
I would smile back

I never meant to wrong you
Neither did i want to hurt you
I am sorry i made you cry
Sorry for telling lies
All along i was the cause
Of every argument we had
I feel so sad
Because you are all i had
And now all that's left in my head
Is just a picture of you in my bed

I should have treated you right
Instead of the useless fights
I trampled on your soul
Messed with your heart
I thought i was smart
So I took you for a fool
And now i realize
How precious you are
I hope you hear my cry
I hope you forgive me
