Kaleidoscopes

"I'm like a kaleidoscope; I'd say a diamond, but the thing is, diamonds are transparent. You can usually pinpoint the origin of the fractured lights," she says, the Cheshire smile spreading across her lips.

(Secrets only I know, she thinks)

"And kaleidoscopes?" He questions.

"You can't. The thing with kaleidoscopes is there there is no point of origin: it's everything and nothing all at once."

Hi! I recently joined steemit per a friend's suggestion, so I'm dropping tidbits of writing here and there to see how it goes, as well as getting used to a different platform. I mostly write free-verse poems, with little to no rhyme, mostly about ruminations or observations of myself or others.
Thank you for reading!
