A Poem: At Dawn, On Butterfly Wings

in poetry •  7 years ago

Since i was a caterpillar,

inmate of pain dwelling,

therein color of nature

engraved on my skin.

Knowing my struggles

and unsung songs,

every sin atones.

Broken to my core,

unable to live as i was,

i couldn't take anymore.

So i wrapped myself up,

hid amongst the pages of trees,

undisturbed for weeks,

Until the sun peeked at me.

I saw a light beckoning,

unfurling my wings of gold and blue,

I stepped out and flew.

Nice poem here... Whenever we think we're loosing it all or people are making us feel that way, we should find that ray of hope that will motivate us and shine bright into the eyes of haters.
