The First One Minute and Thirty-five Seconds

The first one minute and thirty-five seconds I woke up,
I tried to find an excuse why I felt so much crap;
You told me that six years wasn't enough,
We'll never get by, so we need to stop.

My mind just can't process what you've just mumbled,
So I did what I do when anxious—I chuckled;
Please let me know why the change of heart so subtle,
So subtle, I can't complain, I can't grumble.

There's no pretending that I can get over you.
'Cause all this time I thought it was true;
What am I supposed to do when all I knew was sadly askew?
Before the break of dawn, I was forced to say adieu.

Storm cloud in the horizon stayed,
Not a single day, I haven't prayed,
Hoping you'd realize all the promises you've made,
Only when you come back I can feel unafraid.

But at last the day has come—
When the first one minute and thirty-five seconds I woke up—I smiled,
I no longer want you back, Though it may sound half beguiled,
I'd rather chose to be happy even without you on my side,
After all, before you, I'm just a shadow in the wild.
