Where lies the heart?

in poetry •  7 years ago  (edited)

Past friends, subtle pleasantries,
They chose my past when it left me.
Memories of mental discoveries,
Constant laughing, thoughts worth having.
But when you don’t remain, neither does the song.
And where lies the heart?
In pain, in memory, in thought?
It remains in the ignorant bliss of then,
And the knowledge of what we ignored now.
