Children Left Behind

Understanding why you left

Is something I will never come to know

You couldn’t handle life’s hardships, it blatantly showed

But to leave your children behind

Is for those without a soul

Further hardships upon them

That you could have instead endured

Especially considering your future days

Did not open any better doors

Walking away from your blood

Is something that I eventually forgave

Understanding why, I will never see the way
