Throwback Poem-Off: A Woman's Worth (Original Poetry)

in poetry •  7 years ago

The poetic dance continues and of late seems there are perfect fits. My entry may not be may favorite in form, but being a natural response I cannot acquit.

Here is my latest entry in response to @uniwhisp's - read her's here: Trojan Dulcimer

A Woman’s Worth

Maybe I’m not the one for you
Maybe you’re not the one for me
Maybe our communication issues
Will make it that we cannot be
But regardless of our outcome
There is something you should know
There are good men hiding out there
And this is something I want to show
So your mind’s eye can see
Sometimes it’s ok to let your emotions run free
If anything else, let this be my gift to you
And may your world realize, a women being valued
Is something that can be true

What's a poem-off, you ask? A challenge between @uniwhisp and I to see if we can go turn-for-turn and repost some of our long lost poems from the vaults of time. No rules apply, and new stuff might just make the mix!

I use to write poetry years ago, it really makes you work your mind it's not as easy as people think but very rewarding for everyone to read.

That's right. This poem-off consists of pieces we wrote years ago. I cannot write as easily now as I did then.

Oh, this has such a sweet sentiment! And I'd say yes, we're on a positive turn now. I can't think of anything off hand to follow though, so I gotta think on it!

Alright, I've narrowed it down to three...all slightly different. Gonna think on it and will post later. :D
