Throwback Poem-Off: Heaven (Original Poetry)

in poetry •  7 years ago

Just when I thought I was about to take a dark turn I stumbled upon something much more playful that plays on the same emotions in @uniwhisp's latest poem.

You can read her latest entry here: Sing On

Heaven

The Heavenly Lights
The Heavenly Nights
Your Heavenly appeal
This man cannot fight

Heavens abound
Heavens around
Your voice is
Such a heavenly sound

Heavens high
Heaven shines
Heaven is what I’ll feel
If you were mine

Your Heavenly gaze
Keeps me amazed
At the wonder that is you
Now if I could only build the courage
To come talk to you

What's a poem-off, you ask? A challenge between @uniwhisp and I to see if we can go turn-for-turn and repost some of our long lost poems from the vaults of time. No rules apply, and new stuff might just make the mix!

Regards,
Mitchell J

Well written poetry You should write more

Love the poem; Hopes from afar, sometimes you just need to take a step to get what you want.

Yes, that was the emotion it was written off of many moons ago.

Ya know, I'm not a huge fan of poetry, but this is simple and exquisite. Well done!

Thanks! Glad it could give you a quick poetry interlude :-)
