I was challenged by @lorilikes for in her post about Ten Truths about her that you can relate to to tell her something true about myself. Well, I'm not gonna tell that many things, but I did see some posts by members of #thealliance that had 5 fun facts, so I'll try for that.
My true passion is performance spoken word poetry, but I have only performed once, really. Even though it is my passion, I only "write" about one or two pieces a year and when I do, they are committed to memory as I write them and are usually never actually written until well after their creation.
I have 3 kids and I call them my babies. I am much more affectionate with them than most guys. This is truly odd for me because I'm not really affectionate towards anybody else except for my wife. I feel like they're my purpose in life. I don't write about them too often, but they are always on my mind. I am away from them at the moment due to a job that has me out of the country for a while.
I always find myself in leadership positions though it's usually the last thing I want to do. I mean, don't get me wrong, I have opinions and observations, and I don't mind sharing those, but I hate being in a position to push my beliefs on anybody. I will not hesitate to fill a vacuum if no leader is available, but I don't desire the position and will willingly give it up if a leader comes along.
I'm a watcher. I like to sit back and observe before I get involved in something. I analyze situations and try to determine facts. I come to my own conclusions, but I like to let people come to theirs as well because I feel like I learn more about them that way, and I often garner new perspectives.
Nobody in real life knows I am a poet. I just don't share that part of me with too many people. I have written many poems about and for my wife, but she has never seen them. I will show them to her one day when we're old. That's one of my main reasons for joining Steemit. I want my work preserved forever on the blockchain, immutable and unchangeable. One day after I'm dead, my family will find this stuff, and my hope is that it will relay how much I really loved them.
Thanks for reading feel free to leave a comment.

Wow
It's not everyday you get to know someone beyond their posts on steemit.
So no one outside Steemit know you're a poet? You're really unassuming. Over here, we make a loud noise about it. Lol
Your affection for your wife and children is cool (trying to avoid cute).
Thanks for sharing

You want to show your poem to beloved wife at your old age. From this line I realize that you love your wife very much. I think, every person should love their family member. Thanks for the post

The image given by all of these is one of an introvert. Performance, and leadership is always a performance, takes a lot out of you. I know, I too am an introvert.
I feel as if 3-4 are related in particular. It is the introversion and being a watcher that make one wish to not be a leader, but also often give one the skills to become on.
I rarely give advice of this sort, especially when unsolicited, but looking at 1 and 5 together, I feel I must. In my own 5 facts post I spoke of how the household in which I was raised was one where not enough love was shown. I am not saying you're not showing love to your children and family, because you say you do, but this line got to me:
There is no such thing as "showing too much love" to one's family. I think any opportunity you have to show them exactly how much you love them now, which you pass on, is a mistake.
Also, always happy to know more about people. I too have spent a long time people-watching, and you need to be interested in people for that. Good luck, Moe.
