Ripples
I sit upon a meadow
Staring at the world
The sky so blue
The Sun nowhere
Beautiful Light
Oh what a sight!
The grass is so soft
And the trees are so green
I laugh as I run
Not a worry or care
I sit under the shade
Of a big old tree
I can't wait till tonight
When I go out and DREAM!
I live my life
And love the bright light
For the sun is in us all
We all awake in the morn
To a new beautiful day
We all choose
What we do what we say and how we treat our family
We can all cherish this gift
For life is a treasure
I stare in awe at the world around me
At the beauty of life
At the wonders of humanity
I sit upon a mountain top and meditate
I think about my place in the world
Where I came from and where I will go
Who I will be and what I will see
I think about all the people around me
And how they live their lives
I wonder if they see what I see
If they see the things I love and enjoy
As I lay on this mountain
I see a hawk fly by
Soaring through the sky
I see clouds drifting
The wind blowing
I see a waterfall
Far in the distance
I feel the grass on my back
The dirt of the mountain on my hands and face
Refreshing after swimming
The smell of nature fills my nostrils
As I lay here I think about where I came from
I think about my family
My friends my enemies
And all the people who made me
The man I am today
I think about my beliefs
And why I chose them
I think about how I can make a difference in this world
I'm not too sure of what the future holds for me
But I know that this life is short and unpredictable
I may die tomorrow
I may live another hundred years
But one thing is certain:
I want to make the world a better place
Life is a struggle
Love is a fickle beast
But this I know is true
We all come from the same stuff that made the sun the moon and the stars
And to that stuff we all shall return one day
Life is a gift
We are alive right now
And we don't know why
I believe this to be true
The sun will rise tomorrow
As it has for billions of years
These words I have written
Will be here tomorrow
When I die
The world will spin
These words are a part of that spinning world
We are all just specks in the great Universe
But we are all important
And we are all significant
We may be specks
But our actions matter
And they make ripples
Imagine a single drop of water
That's what we are
Now imagine that that single drop of water lands in a pond
The drop of water makes a small ripple
The ripple is small
But it has the power to touch everything around it
This is what we do
We are but drops in this giant Universe
We may feel small and inconsequential
But our ripples go on to change the world
We just have to choose our starting point and jump in
What do you want to do with your ripple?
What do you want to change in this world?
Where's your starting point?
And when you make that choice
You can then jump in and
Make your ripple count
