Poetry - Warrior

Warrior
Black shapes beneath
Frost in the air
I cling to the sword
And I'm not afraid

The moon is bright
When it shines so bright
It burns my eyes

My heart beats faster
I feel like I can't breathe
The wind blows cold
I don't want to die
But I am dying
As I bleed out I think of the people I love
I think about who loved me

I sit in wonder
As my spirits fly
To where did I come?
And where do I go?
And what am I?
The pain and the joy it's all part of it
My heart is broken but I love them more

I see a light
It's so very bright
And now I lay me down to sleep
I pray the Lord my soul to keep
Will I wake or will I sleep?
I'll meet you on the other side
I close my eyes
My heart stops beating
And I'm ready to sleep
This is who I am
I lived as a warrior
Now I die as one
