If I Remembered My Dreams

in poetry •  7 years ago

If I remembered my dreams
It would be too good to be true
Impossible it seems
But I know they’re all about you

Far away distant in foreign lands
We frolic and roam with interlocked hands
We look to the sky as we lay on our backs
Eat fancy things and cute little snacks

No, we sit on a beach
Margarita for each
Swim in the sea
And tan all day naked

Wait, I recall a romantic summer night
Where I prepared dinner for you by warm candle light
And you came surprised with a smile on your face
As we ate and made love by a warm fireplace

Maybe, but there was this time when I saw you
Standing in the rain all dripping wet
I held you close, as close as you’d let
You came closer because you were cold
And I kissed you in the rain until we grew old

But If I were to remember
The dream of all dreams would be set in a cold September
With a ring on your ring finger
With a kiss that would linger
Knowing we’d be together forever

Man, good job. This piece took me on a journey where I was able to visualize my person in each line. Thank you for sharing with us and welcome to the community.

Thanks puravidaville, I'm glad you liked it! I am starting to enjoy the community already with the few encouraging comments I have received. Until now, most of my photographs, poems, etc have remained private and hidden. It feels good to get it out there and see how it can help and encourage others. I look forward to sharing more in the future, so stop back soon.

And this is the perfect place to share that. So far it’s been a really supportive community from what I can tell.
