MY FEARS

in poetry •  7 years ago

I fear that I will always be a lonely number like root three. A
three is all that good and perfect why must my three be kept out of
sight beneath a vicious square root sign,
I wish instead I were a chemical bond, for chemical bond is a
lasting attraction between atoms, ions or molecules that
enables the formation of a chemical compounds.

When hark! What is this I see, a positive real number coming
together now we multiply to form a number we prefer, more
precisely rejoicing as an integer to distinguish ourselves from
the negative numbers.
In general, we break free from our signs to form a strong
chemical bond with the sharing of electrons between our
participating atoms.
Indeed most of the physical environment around us is held
together by our bond, which dictates the structure and the bulk
properties of matter.
All bonds can be explained by quantum theory, but ours can’t
because when are together we leave no root.
