Your unforgiving touch sweeps across my lips
as you sigh a frosty sigh.                                                                                                                    

Bitter winter, you had me sane              
while your presence pierced my existence
and stripped me of my soul.          

Bitter winter, the darker days                                                                                                      
mean darker thoughts                                                                                                        
and darker dreams.                                                                                                                                                     
Frozen in the hands of time,                                                                                      
ending and mercy
both linger,                                                                                               
unseen.

Bitter winter, your melancholy
