The Human Vaccine

The Earth does not exist for you
Nor does it exist for your bairns
Any more than your body
Exists for a single red blood cell
Currently passing through your heart
You exist for the Earth
A part of Her whole body
You can help keep this body alive
Or you can grow into a cancer
What kind of cell are you?
Will you contribute for the benefit of all?
Or will Her immune cells be called upon
To attack you like a virus?
The Mother's body is inflamed,
Entire systems suffering as
She tries to heal the damage done
From the selfish little human cells.
When we realized we live in
A heliocentric system
We should have maybe
Looked past ourselves
When we learned that
Our actions have consequences
And our biosphere is a spider's web
Of entanglements and connections
We continued to flow
Unaware of the manifest parts
That make up our world
But the killer T cells are coming
Her fever is growing
She will go on
Her infection will not
Be a healthy helper cell
A probiotic in a world full of c.diff
Or Mom might have to take
The human vaccine.
