Primary Shapes?

When I was little I was told that the primary shapes that made up the world were pointy or perfect. I've looked for them ever since. But they ain't there. No squares. No circles. No triangles. They live in thought and its agents, ghosts.
The cooler question is what is fore and what is background, darker or lighter tones?

You are so right about this, everything in nature is the complete opposite of square or pointy - it's curved and flowy....natural.

Foreground and background can be complicated - I prefer a lighter foreground but it rarely seems to happen that way.
