the sky is barren
murmurations have landed
settled to tree
nested for pyrotechnics
then rest
on edict
dusk demands
the horizon
and its extremities
empty of all but color
tincture blend
sanguine and coral
blood and bone
bled and pounded
indigo sheaths
beaten and sapped
cured and smoke
embers offer
a hazy
but impressive
reflection
particles spark
pigment set on fire
a parched rainbow
ends a scorched day

The parched rainbow has me feeling really thirsty. Do you live in a desert? The poem gives me the feeling that all energy is spent and all the color in the world won't satisfy the thirsty rainbow.
