For a day of many sleeps
with the earth as our pillow
we shared the sky

roots were deep
limbs strong
limbs supple
wings wide
sacred glade fertile

leaves from lips
taken by the wind
dried to dirt
given by the rain
to mud

sacred glade no more
you share only earth
for upon it
there is proof
of your tread

wings do not mark the sky

for a day of many sleeps
with the earth as our pillow
we shared the sky

Perhaps his roots
were too shallow
and lofty ideals
caused winds
to blow and
topple the lack
of foundation

Maybe wings
do not mark the sky
but disloyalty scars
the earth and those
who walk it
innocently
enough

Ahhh ... I walk not quite so innocently anymore but a little more wiser and powerfully doing my best not to scar the path of course. Loved this comment and its answer in kind:) Hope your day is going well:)

I appreciate the time you put into this beautiful poem. I also like the tone of the wood. It is a nice photo.

Thank you, Cryptodoug. Love the screenname.

Aww :( - this has a melancholic vibe to me, whats the deeper meaning behind it?

Someone who wasn't a loyal and in love as he claimed of course. But then I may have been a little too much for him:)

Aww, and ~ ah - that makes sense. Thanks for sharing this.

I'm currently undergoing traumas from my last relationship and this is actually what defined what we were like.

I need to keep track of your blog and help you grow.

Relationship tend to run patterns I think. Did you want to exchange follows here?

I saw the follow ... happily returned it:)

Takes courage to open wide and love deeply to the bone. Thank you! this was delicately weaved ... sad but a beautiful piece. Looking forward to many more!

It does at that and strength and endurance to maintain that love. Alas I fell for a sprinter. LOL.

Nice poem, I especially like the opening and finishing lines.
I like the openness and humbleness of your tone!

Thank you, purpleflowers. I am heartened by your words:)

I want to tell you that I usually stay away from foreign language poetry, I am a poor connoisseur of English and do not read poetry in English because I definitely lose the essence. I'm saying this to understand why I don't comment on the post. I see enough success for you, when I started and until I understood how it works, my posts received only a few cents. Congratulations!

I had no idea your second language was English. Your prose is so precise. Perhaps you might change your mind someday. But I do understand. Much love.

Thank you and thanks for understanding.

You are very talented. :)

Thank you, Debra. You make me smile:)
