[ORIGINAL POEM] The unemployed ✍️

in poetry •  8 years ago  (edited)
The unemployed in the harbor hang in clusters
     Drink to forget the day
to avoid tomorrow.
Somewhere they remember their childhood, the hand
that stroked their hair before they went to sleep
the smell of freshly baked bread
as they woke up.
The sound of a bottle of cheap whisky
hits the ground, and swiftly
    shatters the pensive reflection.
