The Native Struggle (Poetry)

in poetry •  7 years ago

Those who dug for American gold dug the graves of its children

Lust for what lies beneath the earths face

Precious metals, not so precious people

The metal horse brought forth fierce and hungry monsters

Hell bent on plunder, firing thunder upon those who live with the land

The Indian man rarely shook a sincere white hand, poison hidden within the palms

Truce flags stitched with  treachery

The great western story, greed and technology steam rolled humanity

All in the name of the white mans prosperity

This was supposed to be the land of hope and glory
