Wildflower on a virgin island
Saying you are radiant as the sun
Is but a denial of justice
Tongues hit a thousand crossroads
Playing the role of maze runner
Seeking for the right words to
Capture your picture on paper
Awe succumbed me to believe
In the religion of feminine beauty
Devout I was, in the tenets of my faith
But even sacred beauty is mortal
Time; the herald of its Waterloo
I see your petals; once a cynosure of eyes
Plucked away into oblivion
From flower to fossil.
