Dedication
To my Darling Love, whom I have recently met - I did not know I would ever find a person as wonderful as you are. And, to my dear friend, Renee - you have been instrumental in bringing magic and positive manifestations into my life. I am glad we are friends. Thank you.
Premise
This Chapbook reflects my movement to play with alteration:
al·lit·er·a·tion
/əˌlidəˈrāSH(ə)n/
noun
- the occurrence of the same letter or sound at the beginning of adjacent or closely connected words.
(Source: Oxford Dictionary)
Carried away, but that was the point, I am told. Perhaps, I may have been carried away, a little. The words just seemed to flow and I didn't want to limit myself with structure, too much. I had fun writing this set and I hope you have fun reading it. Just don't take it too seriously and it might just be funny. Poetic replies are encouraged, mirroring the alliteration. I would like to know what you think, limerick style. Are there any contests or challenges going on using this speech / literature tool that you know about? It will be fun to see how far this goes...and who else is participating.
Alliteration Compilation
(We have muddied up the river. Rocks and sticks have returned to the water. Little fish poke around in the shallows, protected by the large log. They are swimming to escape the turned up dirt...)
I. "Volcanoes Erupting"
Volcanoes erupting
and smoke spewing
and lava coming
and noises blowing
and charges bulling
volcanoes spewing
news, some can be worthy
unifying and hurrying
and spewing instead
spewing up dread
like so much blood
the smoke's still spewing
the volcanoes still erupt
the positivism erupts
but is it enough?
to erupt enough
To smoke enough...?

II. "Nevertheless"
Nevertheless, the aliens
the aliens were never less
for Pineapple Express
wends its way through distress
the lesson is alien to me
to weigh against
Werewolf-less-ness

III. "She's Quiet?"
And right when you
think she'll be quiet
on cue, she is silent
but don't let it fool you
she'll school you
So, please move

IV. "There She Goes"
There goes my Baby
she is all sweaty
no, I didn't match
no, it isn't just trash
however, there she goes
she's full of woes
in the heat
and I'm full of the known
like heaps of neat
little umbrellas
underused and blown
It was about the blouse
on the sand that was
relieving of seeing rings
of sweat, dreams were
tossed aside, thanks to
Singing, leaving birds

V. "Worry"
Made to worry
Don't worry none
No one shall be made to worry
Not this time, not for fun
Not even for lemon chiffon

VI. "Poetry is all that's Left"
Poetry is but light
captured on the page
It is but slightly
covered stages of sage,
Wisdom and delight
at writing said words
comes with little spite
as easy as the birds
come one, come all
turn the page to see
Life is a ball
Heaven is in the reeds
steady gains the written horse
For such might and breeze
For a Winter's foal
Melancholy is the Winter's goal
That's all that is left, is poetry...

VII. "Poetry Just Began"
Poetry, darkness, just began
just fell like raindrops
in a sea of caravans
maybe just a night drop
Maybe just a speak easy
speaking easy of poetry
like an ocean of cheesy
Lines netted together won't
be easy, just easy-peasy
I feel like getting stoned
Just a market to wend
With wending roads and words
never left, never to send
It sounds more resounding
to have tea with people
In light dark poundings
of scruples and steeples
Where poetry just began

VIII. "I Feel Lightened"
Sexual exploits alit
church bells do nothing
to ring in an existence
lacking in Emperor's clothing
just so you know what
to expect when you're lit
certainly not that they'll clothe you
Heaven sent a gift
that once again comfort
will find me in its grip
something inside will lighten
and carols will brighten
but never mind the rift
never mind who is left
they won't be frightened
I feel like it lightened

Use the "onehumanbasket" tag to get my 100% (real person) upvote.
- Use the tag "onehumanbasket" on photography, art or other types of posts besides poetry. Posts using both "poetry" and "onehumanbasket," however, will remain higher priority vote, since I wish to curate the poetry community specifically.
- I also host a weekly poetry dice contest. Official entries to the Poetry Dice Challenge 3000 (PDC3K) will have the highest priority vote. Please only use the "poetrydice" tag for official entries to the contest. Abusers will be flagged.
- I also curate posts using just the "poetry” tag.
- Any left-over voting power gets used for highly selective posts that I hope contribute to the "onehumanbasket" feel. (This includes nonsensical dTube videos and my own posts.)
