Slippery Moments

in poetry •  7 years ago  (edited)

Every thing that lives will one day wither.
Every one who sings will one day whimper.
Even the brightest fires will lose their luster.

And still,
naked roses dare to bloom.

And still,
baby birds sing by their mama's hearts.

And still,
fathers give their lives to pay for supper.

Sister, these days I've got you on my mind.

Its too late in the game for us to fight.

Dont let the winds whisk away that smile.

Lets slide, we're in for a hell of a ride.
