30 DAY POETRY CHALLENGE--day one

in poetry •  7 years ago  (edited)

june was home to lush beginnings like tropical rainforests then

an arrow-through-the-heart

heard and then unheard again like something
echoed from the barrel of an empty oil drum when wells run dry and

rot.
reaped.
rose, again.

and rises, still.
