More Energy at Nine

in poetry •  6 years ago

His heart set on the line

To obtain a price before May

Not to miss the call to dine

The only grape on the vine

Blind to see the crowed but hay

Anxious for the contract to align

He dived deep into her without a lifeline

To get drown by the moves she slay

Hope on a scale of ten offers him nine

Few meters away he stumbled on her outline

A flame on his perception turned grey

As gravity pulls him to streamline

Placed his heart on the table to redesign

He became weightless and gave up to pray

It’s a bitter truth not on the same airline

He picked his heart off the line

Smiled bitterness at the price before May

He learnt on a scale of ten to fuel most at nine

Because at ten you would be at the table to dine
