We watched the blaze as it crept close,
Flames freezing everything around,
The ashes seemingly fell like snow,
Leaving marks of death upon the ground.

Then water began to fall,
From the cursed evening sky,
And this water burned one and all,
So we wished that we could die.

This we found our only choice,
That fire like freezing snow,
Or water whose heat rivalled that,
Of hell way down below
