The Secret of Life

in poetry •  7 years ago

When nature provokes me to verbalise my emotions, my mind attempts to conjure up a verse. So here goes...

 The Secret of Life

As I travel on the winding roads of life,

A misty haze of my past engulfs me;

The uncertainty of the bend in the road slows me down.

However, the lush green trees prompt the promise of life;

The whispering breeze ushers me onwards;

The drifting clouds sway my thoughts towards freedom.

I've come a long way,  deep into the woods,

Climbed the mountain of pain in search of solace

Inching forward with a hope

To seek the truth of life hidden in the roots of nature.

And then I see

The flowers smile as they tuck wisdom inside the seeds -

"It lies within you!"

 This poem portrays our journey of life and our quest for peace. We try in vain to understand the meaning of life. Nature  reveals the truth that the answer to all our questions lies within us.
