Chasin' Dreams (An Original Poem)

I need to get a grip and do things my own way
but you know how it goes, you know what they say.
They say that you're playing the same old game,
trying to escape, trying to get away.

In a way they're right but I'm only chasing dreams,
see, when I look at real life I take in the scenes
and it teaches me a lot about mortality.
If I'm gonna live once, I wanna be free.

I don't want to wake up at 5 and go to a job everyday
where my heart's not in it and neither the brain.
I'm not a machine and I'm not a slave,
and I'll be just fine going my own way.

To all of my followers, three hundred and one.
I'm now out of beer and can't find the rum.
It's time I retire and slip into bed.
Olivwa, adieu, goodnight,

Love,
