It's Here Now

It's here now and how do I deal
Something I haven't been looking for
Something I've tried to guard myself against
Afraid of hurt
Hurt that seems to lurk
Lurk everywhere I go
Do you bring me something different?
But how do I trust you for sure?
How are you going to show me?
How is it possible to guard myself
Against something I need and want
The words you say scare me, yet
Make me look forward to a new day
You have had that life before
The life I'm afraid I can't give you
What if you can't find what you are looking for
There goes me, my heart, my everything--again
