Voiceless Wild Things

They crawled in with the dreams,
and desires.
Impetuous extravagances,
escaping the cold wordless silence of
unspoken wishes.

Voiceless wild things with no word for love.
No word for fear.

They shook the night apart snatching
static from air,
mercury burning.
Lights out.

They circled, formless.

Thoughtless.

Falling through eyelids.
Passing through lips.

They shuddered into life.
Quick with the quiver.
Letting themselves out.
Letting each other in.

They prowled through the years
and the days
weaving
themselves together
like wind.
