Time Travel

I light a candle to read a book on candles
I read that my candle is made of petroleum wax
petroleum being made from dead vegetation, millions of year gone
vegetation stores it's energy from sunlight
lighting the wax breaks the chemical bonds that store that energy
I read with the light of an ancient sun!

light travels at 300,000 kilometers a second
fast but still finite, it covers a little over a foot in a nanosecond
I see you approach as you were 50 nanoseconds ago,
The sun I see is over 8 minutes old, and Andromeda is two and a half million years past
The only true present is within me
everything else appears as it used to be
