[Poetry] Drifting

in poetry •  7 years ago

I am the captain my ship,
But my ship has lost her mast,
The veil is ripped,
The crew is gone,
The helm broke down,
And I am very lost.

I stand on deck and look in front,
And nothing there I see,
The wind is still,
The sun is high,
There’s only sea and me.

I drift away so many days,
So many days at sea,
But in the end, rejoice my friend,
A storm it can be seen.

I enjoyed this and the story it told. I also like how the language obscures the meaning a bit. Nice write.
