Smile (an original poem)

It doesn’t even cost a penny,
But it can mean a lot to many,
Instead of staring at the ground,
Try and spread happiness all around.

Why do we ignore the people we meet,
We just ignore them or stare at our feet,
One little smile you’ll be on your way,
It can cheer someone up if they have had a bad day.

Why not give that smile a shot,
It’s a small thing to do but it really means a lot,
Say hello to someone new - don’t run a mile,
Or say “have a nice day” then give them a smile.
