love, being honest and still

in poetry •  7 years ago

Gotta get mine,
before i can cogitate on yours;
going to love me before
i can even attempt to love hers;

so come now
get it centered
and start to focus
on the universe,
that song for
you and i,
that comes with
no need to rehearse:

You heard it once unexpected
then found out
that when you listened
constantly,
it kept you protected.
Start respecting
and you'll be respected.
Neglect this, and you'll
be neglected.

The world is mine,
and yours and theirs;
Help yourself to a slice,
or maybe even thirds;
But pass it back,
reality is a verb:

A massive attack of
attitudes on nerves,
vibrating simultaneously
from within and without,
that often serves to swerve
i in i
from stepping back to observe
that the waves can be controlled,
even by the simplest use of a word,
put in place instead of another:

Start thinking of your enemy
as the same as your brother,
or sister,
wife, child, mother, or lover.
Start treating them as you,
and you'll probably discover
the wealth of all nations
hidden in plain sight.

The wool's been pulled over your eyes,
but suprise,
truth's being broadcast
station to station
from height to height:

Practice Elation Now
fellow creation
and rejoice, for
there's enough to go around
and the world is
your oyster.
