Reborn Soul

in poetry •  7 years ago

The shells of her former being
drag behind as the glow
she emanates blinds them
from staining a future
she fought to have back.

She calls on the wind
to carry her tired spirit
across turbulent seas
to leave her gloomy past
arguing with the angry tides.

She repents her sins
on her delicate knees
behind closed doors
at home
while sobbing alone
trying to get over her masks.

A reflection
staring back in her mirror
dares her undying soul
to believe in the unseen
paint her pain on these screens
do whatever it takes to heal.

A soft breeze blows her
soft kisses
igniting sensation
reminding her of a gratis life
To its fragility with time
and vows to live in her present.

Strength is hers
as she embraces her scars
peeling out each label
they ever gave
willing to be the imperfection
they believed her to be
only to feel oddly complete.
