Happy Mother’s Day

in poetry •  7 years ago  (edited)

Months with very little sleep
After nine months of miracles
You gave up your food
To make sure I had something to eat
Aren’t you beautiful

Your dreams on hold
While your temple is recovering
The pain
No one knows how much
You are stronger than everyone I know

Your voice
Calming
Your touch
Healing

Your powers often not acknowledge
But you continue doing what you’re doing
Making sacrifices after sacrifices
How beautiful are you

Pure joy when you first held me
That joy never left your soul
You made it your sole purpose to love me
And your love never grows old
