Simple enough for all to understand
But clever enough for them to marvel at
Poetry is correcting me
My feelings
My life
My actions

Another chance to write my wrongs
Another chance to make peace
Confessing it all
My life has no boundaries

Silently these waters stream by
They don’t even realize how deep it is
This river has a blue hole
A gateway into another reality

This heart is heavy
I’m carrying an intolerable load
Those who I thought was here for the long term
Up and left
Leaving me out in the cold

Emotions affecting my judgment
My mind is running a hundred miles
Trying to figure out who is with me
And who I should leave behind

At a loss
I don’t know what to do
I need to fill this empty space
Find some way to stitch these wounds

I’m drowning in these feelings
Suffocating from my pride
I refuse to show that I’m hurt
I refuse to give them that joy in knowing that they disrupted my life.
