This is for those who cherish normalcy
I have always scorned the notion of it
Very recently, I’ve come to know it's glorious
For a normal life is a life of satiety

Commitment to daily achievements is my piety
Always seeking new goals is an insatiable diet
I engrave my goals with scribble that’s fiery
My happiness rests in check marks and check boxes

My only relaxation is found in boomboxes
Bleeding sounds that champion new genres
I used to burn CDs from MP3 files I’d find online
Now I drink cup after cup of music from streams

Drunk with melodies that give me peace
For some moments, I am content with just being
Lacking the desire for inspirational feelings
I imagine that this is what normalcy feels like

Unencumbered by heavy thoughts in the deep night
Thoughts that include: doubts, ambitions, regret
But instead, happy with what currently exists
And looking forward to what is expected

I like your take on life's expectations, and how sometimes it turns out that it might be something that you anticipate. @mylittleblurbs

Yes it can be! My message was that sometimes we can reach a place where we are not actively pursuing anything. Where we can enjoy the simple pleasures of a life we have built for ourselves. I'm glad you liked it!
