Today, Crux, my parrot, begged me to open her cage, I did, she flew away and I am sure she is in love.

Today, sitting in this same room where we last met, staring at this cage, I so wish that I'd drawn closer and whispered, rather I let you go leaving you in the dark.

I wish I could tell you that I stopped calling because I feared that you might sense love-swimming-in-fear in my voice.

I wish I could tell you of how the day and the night became one in my tiresome wait to be yours but even now as I think of you the least I love you.

I wish I had told you how I wanted a part of you but perhaps I would have soured your impression of me.

I wish I could tell you that sugar and kisses have become the only vocabularies in my archive but perhaps if I were blue I would make sense right now
