THE WAY OUT

Everything is impertinent,
I am confused
For the dark forms of
Grotesque incongruence
Surreptitiously creeping up my senses.
It is imperceptible,
The clasp around my shins,
But two steps short of
The way out,
The only way out,
I will be pulled back,
Dragged back to the
Surety of distress.

And as my fear
For what could make my death increases,
The clasp strengthens,
Pulling me more inevitably.
And before long,
As minds and hearts reason,
I understand
It is the fear that is
Working the clasps,
Tugging my legs.
And I make this one
Fearless step,

And what was of pulling me
Started by to
Gently help me push through.
