Light Blue Gown (an original poem)

in poetry •  8 years ago  (edited)

Light blue gown,
as blue as the sky you will never see.
Fain would I accept this fate
you declare
but I do not.
For it is with deep grief
that I pluck this seed,
withered inside
what was left of me.

Count.
Count to five
until you drift to sleep.
But I only made it to two
before my consciousness...
blackened.

Awake. Awake now suddenly-
My body jolts violently
with the top of my screams.
Screams of death for what was taken
internally, eternally.
In more ways than one.
