There was once a sled dog named Zeke,
Who never said a word, not even an eke.
But he had a heart of gold,
His love couldn't be bought or sold.
The lead dog, he always strived to win the annual race,
By keeping a stately pace.
With dark eyes, seeing him was always a surprise.
He was held in high esteem because the others spirits would rise.
Of black and white coat, he never needed to be on a boat.
Because he would travel in winter over a lake's icy coat.
He would run with all his might, as the sled would move to the right.
The other dogs could trust him because this husky was their light.
He was younger than most of them but he had a mighty heart.
So much so that in the summer he would practice his part.
Zeke would one day win the big race,
And when that day did come he didn't lose face.
